Embedded Firmware Design Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Concept and development of FW architecture and code. Candidate must be able to work independently in a growing, fast paced, result oriented environment with aggressive deadlines to meet customer requirements.

This position is responsible for design and development of firmware used in embedded systems for control and monitoring of various power systems. The candidate will work with a team of hardware and systems engineers for successful completion of projects.

You will be responsible for developing real time embedded software for distributed control and monitoring systems utilizing various methods and tools.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of three (3) years embedded systems design.
Experience with PIC, Coldfire, and ARM microcontrollers and associated development tools.
Familiarity with basic hardware design concepts (A/D conversion, Communication Bus, Memory Interface, LED/LCD and Push button Displays) and the ability to write and integrate device drivers for such hardware platforms.
Candidates must understand the basics of real-time, multi-tasking systems and be able to design such systems by proper management of system resources.
Candidates should be familiar with the concept and use of commercial RTOS for implementation of the system requirements.
Experience implementing networking protocols (including TCP/IP and SNMP) on embedded systems.
Strong and maintainable firmware development skills using ‘C’.
Good communication skills and the ability to work in a multi disciplinary, dynamic, team environment.
Ability to articulate ideas, define system requirements, and interface directly with customers.
Candidates are required to have a minimum of a BSCS or BSEE degree ( MS Preferred )
