JOB DESCRIPTION

Valere Power develops industry leading DC Power Systems with the highest power density in the communications industry. Our systems are modular and scalable, allowing our customers a great degree of flexibility in meeting the needs of their applications. As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing creative solutions to continually improve the density and modularity of our systems. You will take your ideas and turn them into reality.

Valere is continually looking for ways to increase the density of our power processing modules. As the Senior Mechanical Engineer you will be required to have solid packaging skills and understanding of the details of sheet metal design, busbar and interconnect systems. You will be required to have good analytical and practical experience in thermal design. We use Pro-Engineer as our primary CAD package, which you will need to have the ability to work rapidly in this tool.

Systems are a rapidly growing portion of Valere’s business. As the Senior Mechanical Engineer you will define and drive the development of these systems and their associated modules. You will be required to have understanding of communication power system design and be able to develop strategies that maximize modularity and flexibility of these systems. As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will work with our systems engineers to define our product platforms and then work with our product development teams to develop the modules that make up these products.

As a part of our product development team, you will work actively with our customers and suppliers. Also you will need to have the ability to work with a team of high performance individuals, solving difficult technical challenges, and continually working to exceed our customer’s expectations. You will need to be able to direct the activities of drafting and supporting technical associates. Cost is also a continual constraint, and you will be responsible for managing product cost, development cost, and maintaining aggressive schedules for our customers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
 
  • This position is for an experienced Mechanical Engineer. You must have a minimum of five years of directly relevant industry experience. Hands on ability using Pro-E and its modules, Pro-sheetmetal, Pro-drawing, and Pro-assembly are a requirement.
  • Strong conceptual skills are a requirement.
  • You must have the ability to delegate tasks within a group of high performance peers and direct the activities of drafting and technician support. Previous experience with managing complex schedules or team management experience is desired.
  • Candidates must have good language skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, team environment. You must be able to clearly articulate your ideas, define system requirements, and interface with our end customers.
  • Candidates are required to have a minimum of a BSME degree. Masters degree candidates are strongly preferred.
  • Relocation is available.
