JOB DESCRIPTION
Valere Power develops industry leading DC Power Systems with the highest power density in the communications industry. Our systems are modular and scalable, allowing our customers a great degree of flexibility in meeting the needs of their applications. As the Senior Power Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing creative solutions to continually improve the density and modularity of our systems. You will take your ideas and turn them into reality.
As a Senior Power Electrical Engineer, you will work with our systems engineers to define our product platforms and then work with our product development teams to develop the modules that make up these products.
High density AC-to-DC rectifiers and DC-to-DC converters are a critical component of Valere’s systems. As the Senior Electrical Engineer you will define and drive the development of these power converters. You will be required to have a thorough understanding of power conversion topologies, magnetic structures, and controls.
As a part of our product development team, you will work actively with our customers and suppliers and will need to have the ability to work with a team of high performance individuals, solving difficult technical challenges, and continually working to exceed our customer’s expectations. You will also need to be able to direct the activities of drafting and supporting technical associates. Cost is also a continual constraint, and you will be responsible for managing product cost, development cost, and maintaining aggressive schedules for our customers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
 
 
  • This position is for an experienced Power Electronics Design Engineer. You must have a minimum of five years of directly relevant AC/DC and DC/DC design experience. Must be experienced in the use of analog simulation tools like SPICE and MATHCAD. Hands on ability using lab equipment is required.
  • Schematic capture and printed wiring board CAD experience is required.
  • Strong analytical skills are a requirement.
  • You must have the ability to delegate tasks within a group of high performance peers and direct the activities of drafting and technician support. Previous experience with managing complex schedules or team management experience is desired.
  • Candidates must have good language skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, team environment. You must be able to clearly articulate your ideas, define system requirements, and interface with our end customers.
  • Candidates are required to have a minimum of a BSEE degree. Candidates with MSEE degree are strongly preferred.
  • Relocation is available.
